10 Days in the USA, part of Out of the Box games series, looks like it would be a pretty good game for kids to teach geography and some planning and communication skills to your elementary age kids. I have it on my list to pick up for my grand kids this summer. I am definitely going to demo this at either Origins or GenCon.
