2010 Winter Olympics

Well the Olympics wound up with an exciting overtime hockey game. Canada beat the US 3-2 in overtime. The win gave Canada the gold and was their 14th of the Games a new record surpassing the 13 won by the Soviets in 1976 and Norway in 2002.

The Silver medal for the United States gave them 37 total medals the most ever for a Winter Olympics.

Good Job Team USA

I Will Survive

On this day in 1980 Gloria Gaynor and I will survive won the first, and last, Grammy for disco.

The choice of "I Will Survive" as the winner that night was unassailable, even given the competition. Also nominated in the Best Disco Recording category were: Earth, Wind & Fire for "Boogie Wonderland;" Michael Jackson for "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough;" Rod Stewart for "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?"; and Donna Summer for "Bad Girls." If there was anything surprising about the award, it was that it was being given at all, considering the anti-disco backlash that was already well underway.

Oh yeah, the days of Disco. RIP baby

Bring on baseball

Looks like Cbus will close out February with the most snow ever in the month. Please stop snowing so we can break out the gloves!!

By the way I am getting a little tired of hearing O Canada. But they are having their best Olympics ever. As a matter of fact it will be hard for anyone to catch them in total gold medals.

Usually finishing number two means you are first loser but in this case I'll make an exception. It has been said about Kristi Leskinen that "She's a freestyler, loves to do it, sounds foreign but is actually American, and looks ridiculously hot in her underwear. Yep.

Gretchen Bleiler is 5'5" tall and competes in halfpipe. I'm not sure what that is but I'm going to watch if that is the official team uniform.

Descent on Silver Lake

A bold group of adventurers invaded Silver Lake and had a great time. Stepping away from Paragon City and City of Heroes we played Descent and had a fantastic time. Deano was the ultimate host and we ate like Kings. We also made a road trip to a game store, a comic book shop/game store, a model railroad store and a guitar shop. Thanks to Nautallica for running the game and being incredibly organized. Good Times, Good Friends, The Adventurers!
