Birthday Greetings

To the oldest living Adventurer, The Sage of Southwood, the great and powerful Keithstradamus!!

There are good ships and there are wood ships, the ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships, are friendships, and may they always be.

May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.

Old Knights and too many fires, brews, steaks

Well 2013 is here. And since it is the time of the year for resolutions I want to propose one for the group. We all talk, whine actually, about losing weight so lets do something about it. How about a little contest? We all enter into an agreement to help each other lose some weight. We can set a goal, a completion date and have some fun along the way. Here is my proposal:

We schedule a weigh in day
Our individual target weight loss is our current age
We all throw in $20 bucks. Winner gets 70 %, runner up 20 %, and third gets 10%
The winner will be determined by total of weight lost.
Our day of completion will be the premiere date of The Hobbit part 2

What say you men? Thoughts, ideas, questions, concerns?

JonCon Winter Weekend

Ok it is now getting to the point where we need to make a reservation somewhere. Who is in for a Winter Weekend of gaming, gourging, and galavanting. I can get us somewhere for $99 total but we would have to travel. Do we want to shoot for President's Day weekend in mid February? Who is available?

Jack Reacher is not a short man

With that being said I went and saw this anyway. Despite my issues with Cruise being self cast ( I would have cast Geoff Stults ) this turned out to be a pretty good movie. Reacher is a bad ass of few words and Cruise mostly pulls it off.

Based on One Shot by Lee Childs, I think it was good enough to have a sequel. If only Cruise would wear lifts or something. 2 1/4 Floyds.

Django Unchained - The D is silent

If you go and see Django all you need to know is one thing. It is a Tarentino Movie. I really liked how it had the feel of a spaghetti western from the 60's, a blaxplotation flick of the 70's mixed with Blazing Saddles and A Knight's Tale. The cast is very good as well with Christopher Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson stealing the show. I'd say go see it. 3 Floyds
