Bond, James Bond

I went and saw the newest Bond movie, Quantum Of Solace, at the Arena Grand in Cbus. First of all, we need to make a group trip there. You can enjoy real food and beverages while watching the movie. Back to Bond.

While the Bond franchise has arguably one of the most, if not the most, recognizable theme songs in cinematic history it was barely heard throughout the movie. They also gave you a little more developmental history of the classic Bond drink. But again, you never hear the phrase "Shaken not stirred" spoken. For some reason I found this pretty interesting. I also never heard the classic Bond, James Bond line but maybe I missed it. Also, unlike the first movie with Craig, there is a scene reminiscent of the old campy bond chase scenes. Other than being a touch too long we can forgive it. This time.

Daniel Craig is further supplanting Sean Connery as the best Bond ever but I really think he needs to get at least one, if not two, more Bond adventurers under his belt before he can be known as the best Bond ever.

This movie, like the last, starts fast and hard and goes full tilt for almost the entire movie. There are a couple of slow spots but they don't detract too much from the action. The Bond girls were pretty hot but James wasn't very much of his usual horndog in this one. Olga Kurylenko is smoking hot in her role as Camille Montes and Gemma Arterton comes off pretty sexy as Strawberry Fields; yeah they went there. Watch for the scene where her real first name is used.

Craig, who has changed his appearance ten fold since becoming Bond, embarks on one hell of a revenge mission in this film. Quantum is pretty good, not as good as the last one but pretty good, and I think it is the 2nd best Bond ever. Go see it with a fellow adventurer. I give it 4 Floyd's.
