Post Michigan Game Thoughts

Michigan Still Sucks. And it really doesn't seem like it is getting any better for them either. But it is. That being said their offensive line should be better next year. Michigan always (until this season) has beasts up front but they will return 14 lineman from this years team. That is 14 guys with another year in the weight room and another year of Rich Rod's philosophy and schemes under their belts. If they can shore up that O Line that will at least get them to bowl eligibility status next season. Their Defense has been slow for several years so he is going to have to pay extra attention to that over the next few months. And their not-so-special teams are really, really bad. They will have to go through the offensive growing pains of a starting freshman QB in 09 but whichever one it is (Shavodrick Beaver or Tate Forcier) will automatically improve their offense. I'm leaning toward Forcier since he will be hitting Ann Arbor in January.

Their 2009 Schedule looks like this with my predictions included:

September 5-Western Michigan (W)
September 12-Notre Dame (W)
September 19-???
September 26-Indiana (W)
October 3-at Michigan State (L)
October 10-at Iowa (L)
October 17-Bye Week
October 24-Penn State (L)
October 31-at Illinois (W)
November 7-Purdue (W)
November 14-at Wisconsin (L)
November 21-Ohio State (L)

Note they only have 10 games scheduled at this point so I imagine they will find a couple of patsies to beat so they can finish 7-5.

I hate the waiting for over 30 days until the Bowl game for the Buckeyes but not much we can do about it except root very hard that Oregon State loses and the Bucks get a BCS at large shot. If that happens look for them to play the SEC championship game loser. If it doesn't happen then look to play Georgia in a New Year Day's Bowl.
